The results of the 2005 Bloggies are in and sadly there are no awards for guapacha this year. Amazingly, the fine blogs to the right were also overlooked! Maybe next year.

As you can probably tell due to the blank template, I’ve upgraded the site to version 1.5. Hopefully it will all still work, please let me know if you find something that doesn’t.

The El Pollo Loco building is half-built, and now I read that In’N’Out Burger will be opening in El Centro later this year too. Its almost enough to make up for the 100+ summer temperatures.

Took a trip to the El Pollo Loco last night in Mission Valley, to use someone else’s phrase – I was eating good in the neighbourhood! Whilst I was there I didn’t hear one person ask for corn tortillas over flour and, come to think of it, I don’t think I know anyone who does. So, dear reader, how about you ? Flour or corn??

I am excited, all a tremble even, to annouce that my new aviation-related blog is finally working. Drum roll please…… http://flying.guapacha.com is going to be part flying-diary, part aviation news and information. Mostly its a way to journal my flying but I will also post interesting snippets from the various professional pilot forums I read, as well as accident reports, safety tips etc. Its a brand new site so it may have teething problems, please leave me a comment or send me an email if you find problems or have suggestions.

Now that I have a WP1.5 site up and running, expect this site and the MINI site to be upgraded in the next few weeks.

I’m so excited, my puppy just broke her maiden

I have often talked about how I like the XM radio channel UPop but that one of the problems is finding the tracks that I like. Well, that got a little bit easier with the new Club UPop website which, amongst its many offerings, has a page listing all the tracks played in the last 24 hours. It doesn’t solve the problem of how to find the items to download but it does make it easier to remember what I was looking for in the first place.

I had the misfortune to watch Inside Edition last night, ABC’s nightly update on all things celebrity. Really, why does anyone care what these people say or do? In most cases, these people aren’t even entertaining us, let alone doing anything worthwhile.

Richard Crowe says he was the target of an Al Qaeda plot to kidnap a, ahem, major Hollywood celebrity in order to destabilize our culture? Really, I don’t know what’s worse – who makes this stuff up, or who believes it? Gladiator was a good movie but his kidnapping isn’t going to send me setting cars alight in a panic.

Poor Martha has to wear a house-arrest bracelet – the horror!! We saw just how awful it is to be imprisoned in your own mansion enjoying your fortune and planning your next one. Defrauding your shareholders and lieing to the SEC never looked so attractive. Why do people care about this pointless ex-criminal?

And, finally, poor tsuami-victim supermodel, trying to restore her life after surviving that awful disaster. It must be tough pulling yourself together in your NYC penthouse apartment, with access to food and drink, comfort and warmth, all the things that the millions of the other surviviors are having to do without. But lets feel sorry for her, after all if we think about the real victims we might just grow a conscience.

Ok, I’ll try and get more sleep today.
